She’s been with the Rockland office of Jaret & Cohn since it opened in 1977, and real estate is second nature to her. “I don’t think about the details,” she says, “I just handle them.” Karen has managed property, taught school, and sold real estate, sometimes all at the same time. She’s organized and full of enthusiasm. “I love houses and I really enjoy people. It’s always neat to hook someone up with a house they love, and see them be really happy and move on in their life.” This is particularly satisfying because Karen feels such a part of this community. “I’m from here,” she says. “A lot of my clients I’ve known forever. Some have been children I had in school. It’s amazing to think I’m helping them find a house.” As a mother and a teacher, she always stressed making good choices, accountability, and respect. She strives to live those values in her practice. Karen and her husband live in Tenants Harbor. She loves to read, play bridge and play with her grandchildren.
