80 acres of private land controls approximately 48,000 acres of cattle grazing land in the Apache National Forest. The owners do not live on the property full time. When they are there, they use a camper trailer, four wheelers, and horses to operate the ranch. There are approx. 44 miles of exterior fence and 40 miles of interior fence. The fences are 4 -strand barbed wire on mostly steel posts and some cedar stays. The fences are in very good condition and reflect the owner's excellent management of the ranch. The owner utilizes portable panesl and chutes for operating this ranch. In addition there are 3 sets of corrals, including the shipping pens and livestock scales near the Aragon Well in the Tomas Pasture. The grazing allotment is for 344 cows yearlong including bulls and replacement heifers, with NEPA stipulations for an increase up to 386. At present, the ranch is almost completely stocked to the full permitted numbers. The owner estimates that there are approx. 350 head of grown livestock plus half the calf crop (as of July, 2007). The price includes 300 head of grown cattle, and the transfer of the Canon del Buey grazing allotment for 344, w/stipulations of conditions for an increase to 386 cows year long is $1,500,000.00.
